Bayern target Osimhen won’t leave Napoli for less than €100m
The Nigeria striker has attracted interest from Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle but De Laurentiis wants top dollar for the 23-year-old.
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has been attracting interest from other clubs around Europe since he arrived at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona from Lille in 2020 and Bayern Munich are set to test the Serie A club’s resolve this summer as they seek a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who has expressed his desire to leave the Allianz Arena despite having a year to run on his contract. Bayern also face uncertainty over the future of Germany international Serge Gnabry, who also has one year remaining on his deal and is being linked with a move amid reported interest from Real Madrid.
Bayern keen on Mané and Osimhen
Bayern have been heavily linked with a move for Liverpool’s Sadio Mané as a replacement for Gnabry, and Corriere dello Sport reports that Nigeria international Osimhen has emerged as a target if Lewandowski does leave, with Barcelona the Poland captain’s preferred destination. However, as is always the case with a Napoli player, the striker will not be allowed to leave on the cheap. Notorious hardballer Aurelio de Laurentiis, the Napoli president, has placed a price tag of €100m on the 23-year-old, which will be prohibitive for a club as prudent as Bayern.
Osimhen scored 18 goals in 32 games last season across all competitions for Napoli and has a strike rate of goal every two games at international level. That has led to interest from the Premier League, with Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle all linked with a move this summer.
