Barcelona players Jules Koundé, Ronald Araújo, Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay all picked up knocks on international duty in recent days. Héctor Bellerín is the latest member of the squad to suffer an injury and could be about to spend some time on the sidelines.

The right-back felt a twinge in training on Tuesday morning and withdrew from the session. Barça reported at midday that he had a “twinge in the soleus muscle of his left leg”. Although Barça are confident that Bellerín’s injury is not serious, the right-back is unlikely to play in Mallorca or against Inter in Milan.

Change in system for Xavi

The option of playing with three centre-backs in Mallorca and Milan is beginning to gain momentum, as Barça have lost Araújo and Koundé in recent days. The former could even miss the World Cup with Uruguay as he undergoes surgery in Finland this week. Sergi Roberto is the favourite to slot into the right-back role for the Blaugrana.
