Benfica have not forgotten about former player João Félix, despite the Portuguese’s words to Fabrizio Romano, in which he admitted that he wants to “play for Barcelona. It appears to be a dream more than a reality, but so was the return of Antoine Griezmann to Atlético Madrid, and that became a reality. Benfica will be there waiting, in case, in the end, João still has no offers at the end of the summer transfer window. At the Portuguese club, they still believe he is one of their own.

Barça’s priorities are different as they want Bernardo Silva and before buying, they have to sell players over the coming weeks (Raphinha, Lenglet, Eric García, Kessié...).

The PSG possibility

Benfica will play in the Champions League next season. There has been interest in the player, who has been saying no to Unai Emery’s Aston Villa since last December. Ángel Di María, who has returned to Benfica, his first club in Europe (2007 to 2010), before making the leap to Real Madrid, has contacted the Atlético forward, asking him to consider a return, according to reports in Portugal.

The relationship between João and Diego Simeone is broken, and the Portuguese star is going to leave the Metropolitano. He has also been linked with a move to PSG. If Kylian Mbappé joins Real Madrid, PSG could make an approach for João.
