Betis vs Real Madrid preview

Betis

The hosts will be looking to record their fourth consecutive win when they face Real Madrid at the Benito Villamarín on Sunday.

Betis who are fighting for a Champions League spot, are currently sitting fifth with 40 points, only two behind fourth-placed Atlético Madrid.

The Andalusian side, who recently defeated Almeria, Real Valladolid, and Elche, will play Manchester United in the last-16 stage of the Europa League, with the first leg taking place at Old Trafford on Thursday.

Real Betis, who recently lost key player Fekir for the rest of the season due to a knee injury, will try to defeat beat Real for the first time since March 2020.

Real Madrid

Meanwhile, second-placed Real Madrid will hope to get another three points and that the league leaders Barcelona don’t beat Valencia to shorten distances in the table.

The visitors, who already came out on top against Betis 2-1 in September, will want to quickly forget their 0-1 defeat to Barça in the Copa del Rey semifinals.

In their last game in the league, Carlo Ancelotti’s side was held to a 1-1 draw by Atletico Madrid, with both teams finding the back of the net in the last 15 minutes of the game.

The recently crowned FIFA Club World Cup champions -seven points behind Barcelona in the standings-, are the favorites to emerge victorious in Seville, but all three of their losses in LaLiga have come away from Santiago Bernabéu.
