Offside the verdict.
A very very tight call.
VAR being consulted and a tough one to call.

The move comes to nothing as River defend well.

Saracchi carded for a rash challenge.
Changes for River:
In - Colidio and Rondon

Casco falls badly and may need treatment.

Off we go again.
River start the second half
HT: Boca 0-1 River
Changes planned for Boca
Not a bad first half of football with many SuperClasicos being heavy going affairs in the past few years.
River striking today just when it felt that Boca were growing into the game and a touch of fortune with the ball striking the Venezuelan and ending up in the back of the Boca net.
The whistle sounds and it's River who take the lead at the break.
Salomon Rondon on target for the visitors.
Lanzini and Rondon work well and it takes a fine stop from Romero to keep River at bay.

We'll have four minutes of added time.
The goal stands and River are ahead.
Play still held up as confusion still reigns over the opening goal.

Herrera gets a boot onto the freekick but the ball goes wide as he stretches.
First card of the day goes to Campuzano (trip on De la Cruz) and another yellow, this time to Valentini for protesting.
Herrera has a go from a very acute angle. Wildly ambitious from the River Plate man.
Janson fouled and Boca have a great chance on the edge of the River box.
28.5m from goal. Possibly a little far out for a direct shot.
Blondel shoots but the wall does its job and River can ease a sigh of relief.
Past the 20 minute mark and River are well on top with Boca resorting to counter attacks with the side from Nuñez enjoying the bulk of possession and half chances.
Gonzalez Pirez almost steers the ball into his own net from a decent ball from Ramirez. Better now from Boca as they adopt a more positive approach.
The ball is now down the other side of the field as Barco pulls a shot wide of the Boca goal.
The initial niggles seem to have abated and there is more of a rhythm to the match now.
The last league meeting here at La Bombonera ended 1-0 to the home side in September 2022 with Benedetto bagging the only goal of the game.
