According to FootyHeadlines, a website specializing in football kit news, the shirt draws inspiration from the national flag and two of the team’s most popular past uniforms.
A uniform inspired by the 1994 World Cup
The leaked 2026 home shirt takes cues from the American flag, along with the 1994 World Cup kit and the 2012 home jersey. It features wavy stripes in darker and brighter reds, with navy blue on the collar, cuffs, Nike logo and USMNT crest, set on a ‘Sail’ off-white base.
Nike’s design offers a bold reinterpretation of classic American stripes. Rather than straight horizontal stripes, the jersey uses a rippled pattern running the length of the shirt, giving it a dynamic sense of movement.
