Update:
A first half Fullkrug goal gave Borussia Dortmund the win over Kylian Mbappé's Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the UCL semi-final.

Borussia Dortmund - PSG: Live updates

Dortmund lead ahead of Parisian return leg

Borussia Dortmund battled to an entertaining first leg victory over Paris Saint-Germain, setting up a dramatic return fixture at Parc des Princes next week.

Edin Terzic's side were pinned back by PSG at points but their compact structure made it difficult for the French champions to pick their way through. Dortmund's goal came midway through the first half when Nico Fullkrug raced onto a long ball and finished emphatically past Gianliugi Donnarumma.

Both teams had chances in the second half - most notably a frenetic passage in which PSG his the post twice - but neither could find the back of the net.

Dortmund will be delighted to take a lead to Paris. PSG, however, will be confident of mounting famous UCL comeback in front of their home support. One thing's for sure, it looks set to be a thrilling second leg at Parc des Princes.

William Gittins
90+4

Peeep peeeeeep peeeeeeeeeeep

Fulltime at Signal Iduna Park and Borussia Dortmund have a one-goal lead to take to Paris! PSG had chances, but Dortmund were good value for the win.

William Gittins
90+3

PSG bring the ball up the field one final time. It's worked out for Dembele on the right but the move breaks down as he looks for Hakimi inside.

Dortmund clear the ball up-field...

William Gittins
90+2

Mbappe, Dembele and Hakimi combine on the edge of the Dortmund box. They can't find a way through and the ball is clipped, rather aimlessly, into the box.

Gregor Kobel comes out to claim the ball, much to the delight of the home support.

William Gittins
90

A final change for the hosts. Scorer Nico Fullkrug is off, young forward Youssoufa Moukoko comes on.

William Gittins
90

There will be four minutes of added time.

William Gittins
89

PSG look to get something going in the final minutes of this first leg. They're pinning Dortmund back inside their own box, in front of the Yellow Wall, but can't find a way through.

William Gittins
87

Another Dortmund change. Wolf and Nmecha enter, Ryerson and Brandt are off.

William Gittins
86

Vitinha clips the ball into the Dortmund box and Fabian Ruiz is there to meet it, but his header is mistimed and off-target.

Time is running out for a PSG leveller.

William Gittins
83

Double chance for Dortmund!

Sancho slips a clever pass through to Julian Brandt, who is tackled by Marqinhos just as he's about to shot.

The ball bounces back to Sancho, who finds the head of Marco Reus in the middle. His header is off-target, flying out for a PSG goal kick.

William Gittins
82

Another Dortmund change. Karim Adeyemi is replaced by the veteran, Marco Reus.

William Gittins
81

PSG push forward again and Dortmund resort to some last-ditched defending to prevent the visitors from having a clear shot on goal. They survive, but PSG are really pushing now.

William Gittins
80

Big chance PSG!

Hakimi gets in behind the Dortmund defence and pulls the ball back to Dembele in the box. He's in space, 12 yards from goal, but the Frenchman fires his shot over the crossbar.

A big miss for PSG!

William Gittins
79

Julian Brandt conjures a bit of space on the left for Dortmund and clips a dangerous ball to the back post. Marcel Sabitzer is lurking but he loses the flight of the ball and can't connect.

William Gittins
78

The corner kick is played short but eventually a misplaced pass in the direction of Dembele sees the ball bounces out of play for a goal kick.

Dortmund are closing in on a famous UCL win.

William Gittins
78

Good play from Mbappe to spin on the edge of the box and win a corner kick for his team.

William Gittins
76

Karim Adeyemi is penalised for a foul as he pinches the ball off Achraf Hakimi.

The home crowd do not appreciate that decision, it's fair to say.

William Gittins
75

Dortmund break and find Brandt on the left. It's worked across to Sancho, who shows neat footwork to make space for a cross but it's claimed by Donnarumma.

William Gittins
73

Nuno Mendes

Another injury concern for PSG as the left back stays down after a heavy challenge from Schlotterbeck.

William Gittins
72

Big chance PSG!

The visitors find Mbappe in space in the penalty box. He clips a clever ball over the defence and into the path of Dembele but his scruffy effort is kept out by Kobel in the Dortmund goal.

William Gittins
70

With twenty minutes to go this one is still too close to call.

Sancho does well again for Dortmund on the right but can't quite find space for a cross.

William Gittins
69

PSG come forward with Vitinha. They work the ball across the edge of the Dortmund box, looking for a way through.

The hosts are standing strong and a poor touch from Kolo Muani sees Dortmund win a throw-in.

William Gittins
68

Jadon Sancho is looking confident now. He's been given the freedom to drift inside when he fancies it, causing problems for PSG in midfield.

William Gittins
66

Big chance!

Ian Maatsen curls in the cross and finds the head of Niclas Fullkrug. The striker connects well but his diving header flies over the crossbar.

Will Dortmund be made to regret not finding a second goal?

William Gittins
65

Change for PSG. Randall Kolo Muani comes on, replacing Bradley Barcola.

William Gittins
64

Dortmund come forward again and Kerim Adeyemi is clipped by Hakimi on the flank. Free kick to Dortmund on the left wing, a chance for Brandt to cross into the box.

William Gittins
63

Dortmund penalty appeals!

Huge cries for a spot kick as Fullkrug tumbles in the box. The referee says no, but it'll be checked by VAR...

William Gittins
62

Good ball forward form Brandt to release Adeyemi. For a second it looks like he's in on goal but Hakimi does brilliantly to get back and cut out the danger.

William Gittins
61

The pace of the game is really picking up now, with chance for both teams in the last few minutes. You get the sense that both side would rather be playing on the break, so this match is taking on a very topsy-turvy feel.

William Gittins
60

Big chance!

More good work from Sancho, skipping past Mendes and picking out Fullkrug in the middle. He's only six yards from goal but Fullkrug fires over the crossbar.

He had to score!

William Gittins
59

Big chance!

Dortmund win the ball back high up the field and it lands at the feet of Julian Brandt. The Dortmund playmaker is just inside the box and has a clear sight of goal, but he drags his shot wide.

William Gittins
58

PSG defend the corner well and win a free kick on the right, near their own corner flag.

William Gittins
57

Brilliant control from Sancho to bring down a long punt forward. He finds Fullkrug in the middle and the big striker tries his luck from 20 yards. The ball hits a PSG defender and bounces out for a corner.

William Gittins
56

Bradley Barcola is penalised for a clumsy challenge on Ryerson. A chance for Dortmund to get a breathe.

William Gittins
55

Big chance!

From nothing, PSG whip a brilliant curling cross into the box and onto the head of Fabian Ruiz. The midfielder just needs to nod the ball into the corner but he heads wide of the post.

Another big let-off for Dortmund!

William Gittins
53

Dortmund play long to Fullkrug but he can't win it in the air.

PSG come back with Barcola and Mbappe on the left, making room for a shot. Mbappe fires at goal from a tight angle but Kobel saves well.

William Gittins
52

So close for PSG!

Mbappe picks up the ball on the left of the Dortmund box and strikes the far post with a fierce hit. The ball bounces back to PSG and Hakimi aims for the other corner, only succeeding in hitting the woodwork again!

PSG hit the post twice in ten seconds! Dortmund survive.

William Gittins
50

The corner kick from Brandt is a poor one and PSG get the ball clear.

William Gittins
49

Brilliant touch from Karim Adeyemi to blitz past Marqinhos on the left. He clips a pass to Sancho at the back post.

The Englishman can't quite make space for a shot but he wins a corner kick for his team.

William Gittins
48

Kylian Mbappe is shoved off the ball, winning a free kick for PSG.

It's played short and ends up back with Marqinhos.

William Gittins
47

Dembele makes progress down the right for PSG and wins his team a corner kick.

The corner is taken short and then whipped in by Dembele, but the ball ends up in the hands of Kobel.

William Gittins
46

No changes at the break for either team. PSG are dominating the ball in the early moments of the second half, looking for a way through this Dortmund midfield.

William Gittins
45

And we're back!

Borussia Dortmund get the second half underway...

William Gittins

Incredible pre-game display from Borussia Dortmund supporters

We've had a fascinating first half in Dortmund and there's just as much action in the stands. The Borussia Dortmund support is one of the most fervent in European soccer and they know how to put on a show for these big Champions League nights.

William Gittins

Jadon Sancho impresses against PSG

He's endured a torrid time at Manchester United in recent years but Jadon Sancho is starting to rediscover his form back at Borussia Dortmund. His teammates were constantly looking for him in the first half and he took advantage of their trust, completing an incredible seven dribbles.

He has enjoyed himself up against left back Nuno Mendes. Will Luis Enrique consider making a change at the break to help out Mendes.

William Gittins

Dortmund lead through Fullkrug strike

Most experts said that Dortmund need a result in the home leg to stand a chance of progressing to the Champions League final. At halftime, with a one-goal lead, Edin Terzic's side are in a good position to do exactly that.

William Gittins
45+4

Halftime at Signal Iduna Park

That's all from a high-intensity first half in Dortmund.

The hosts have the lead but will feel like they could, perhaps should, be further ahead at the break.

William Gittins
45+4

The free kick is played to Sabitzer on the edge of the box but he can't connect cleanly with a volley. Donnarumma claims the looping shot.

William Gittins
45+3

Dortmund's Matts Hummels does well, bringing the ball out of defence and spraying a pass out to Sancho on the left. He combines well with Ian Maatsen, who wins a free kick after a late challenge from Hakimi.

Free kick to Dortmund, a last chance of the half...

William Gittins
45+2

Brilliant from Dembele on the right to skip past Maatsen and fire a low cross into the box. The ball skims across the six-yard box but Julian Ryerson is in the right place to clear for Dortmund.

William Gittins
45+1

Sabitzer is penalised on the halfway line for a clumsy tackle on Hakimi.

William Gittins
45

There will be a minimum of four minutes of added time at the end of the first half.

William Gittins
44

PSG look to go right up the other end but Mbappe's through ball for Dembele is overhit and it skids through to Kobel.

William Gittins
43

Big chance!

Another Dortmund attack finds Sabitzer in space in the box but the midfielder's volley is straight at Donnarumma! He was barely 12 yards out, really should have done better with that.

William Gittins
42

Brave play from PSG to play out from the back. The visitors try to find Mbappe running in behind but Barcola's pass is intercepted and Dortmund regain possession.

William Gittins
41

PSG make the change. Lucas Beraldo comes on, replacing the injured Lucas Hernandez.

William Gittins
40

Lucas Hernandez (PSG)

The PSG man is down again and it looks like he'll have to come off now.

William Gittins
39

Dortmund's out-of-possession shape is making life very difficult for PSG as they look to build out from the back. Julian Brandt and Marcel Sabitzer are playing close together, making it difficult for PSG to break through the midfield.

William Gittins
38

We're back underway at Signal Iduna Park, where the volume has increased off the back of that opener from Fullkrug.

He's not the most subtle of strikers but that was a brilliant finish from the big German, rifling the ball past Donnarumma and into the bottom corner.

William Gittins
37

Lucas (PSG)

There's a break now as the PSG defender is down. It's not exactly clear what's he's done, but he's able to hobble from the field and receive treatment.

William Gittins

Borussia Dortmund lead against PSG

William Gittins
35

GOOOOOOAAAAAAL! Niclas Fullkrug

A long ball forward from Nico Schlotterbeck exposes PSG's high line and allows Niklas Fullkrug to run through on goal and fire past Donnorumma.

Dortmund are ahead!

William Gittins
34

More good work from Adeyemi, who tracks the run of Hakimi and shoulders the PSG full back off the ball. He wins a goal kick for his team and a roar of appreciation from the home support.

William Gittins
33

The visitors find a way through and Mbappe plays the ball out to Barcola on the left. His whips in a low cross but no one's there to connect for PSG, allowing Dortmund to clear the danger.

William Gittins
32

PSG try to slow things down and play the ball around at the back.

Marquinhos throws up his hands, seemingly frustrated with the lack of midfield options.

William Gittins
31

Dogged defending from Karim Adeyemi to track back and win the ball for his team. PSG have looked a little cowed in the past ten minutes, Dortmund definitely starting to get on top now.

William Gittins
30

It's Julian Brandt who takes the corner. He flights it to the back post, where Matts Hummels meets it with a firm header but it's well wide of the target.

William Gittins
29

Dortmund come forward again and work the ball to Brandt on the edge of the box. He strikes at goal from 20 yards but his effort hits a PSG defender in the middle.

The hosts win a corner kick.

William Gittins
28

The right-footed Brandt curls in a dangerous in-swinging cross but Fabian Ruiz does well to head it clear.

William Gittins
27

Strong run from Ian Maatsen on the left wins his team a free kick near the corner flag.

A big chance for Dortmund to delivery with quality now. Julian Brandt will take it...

William Gittins
25

Goal kick to Dortmund, a chance for the hosts to rest after a spell of PSG possession.

William Gittins
22

Now a quarter of the way through this first leg, there's very little to choose between the two teams. PSG have looked a little more settled in possession but Dortmund look dangerous on the break, particularly when Brandt and Sancho combine on the right flank.

William Gittins
21

PSG build down the right and find Mbappe in the middle. He does well to hold the ball up and clip a pass out to Nuno Mendes on the left.

William Gittins
19

The first cross is well-cleared but PSG curl the ball back in. Nico Schlotterbeck gets himself across to clear the danger.

William Gittins
19

Ian Maatsen

The Dortmund left back is booked for a late challenge on Zaire-Emery on the right wing. PSG have a free kick from near the touchline, a good chance to deliver.

William Gittins
18

PSG's away support is really making themselves heard at Signal Iduna Park.

William Gittins
17

Faban plays a clever ball through to Barcola. The PSG youngster recycles the play and the ball is played to Dembele on the edge of the box.

He has space to shoot, but his left-footed effort curls comfortably wide of Gregor Kobel's goal.

William Gittins
16

Matt Hummels gets across well to block a long throw-in from reaching the feet of Kylian Mbappe.

William Gittins
14

That chance has only upped the volume.

Dortmund are making no secret of their intention to play down the right, targeting Nuno Mendes at left back. The PSG defender struggled against Lamine Samal in the last round and Sancho clearly fancies his chances.

William Gittins
13

Big chance!

Dortmund pinch the ball back and are back on the attack. Sancho and Brandt combine on the right and slide the ball through to Marcel Sabitzer in the box.

He tries his luck from a tight angle but Donnarumma stands up to save it well. First opening of the game for Dortmund.

William Gittins
12

PSG manage to settle on the ball now and string together a few passes, drawing loud whistles from the home support.

William Gittins
10

Bradley Barcola does well to control a pass forward and PSG work the ball out to Hakimi on the right. He shifts the ball inside to Ousmane Dembele, who fires wide of the post from 25 yards.

A first attempt of the game.

William Gittins
9

PSG look to build some momentum on the edge of the Dortmund box but they are quickly dispossessed and the hosts break again. The BVB midfield has looked superior in the opening stages, making it difficult for PSG to find their star attackers.

William Gittins
8

Emre Can is a little over-eager in a tackle on Dembele, giving away a free kick midway through the PSG half.

William Gittins
7

Adeyemi does brilliantly for Dortmund, blitzing past Hakimi on the left. He gets to the byline but his cross is over-hit and goes out for a throw-in on the far side.

It's been a proactive start form Dortmund.

William Gittins
6

PSG look to break and Achraf Hakimi makes good progress down the right. He's muscled off the ball by Witsel and demands a free kick. No foul, says the referee.

William Gittins
5

Dortmund come forward again with Jadon Sancho on the right. The Englishman swings in a low cross but it's well-cleared.

William Gittins
4

First chance for Jadon Sancho to run at PSG. He skips past Mendes but is dispossessed by Fabian Ruiz as he tries to jink inside.

William Gittins
3

It's a frantic start as both teams look to stretch the opposition defence. Dortmund are already managing to unsettle the PSG backline with their off-the-ball work, aided by the incredible noise from the Yellow Wall.

William Gittins
2

Good defensive work from Ian Maatsen at left back to win the ball for his team. Dortmund play the ball forward to Fullkrug who wins it well.

William Gittins
1

Emre Can is penalised for a foul on Ousmane Dembele on the halfway line.

William Gittins
1

The noise is absolutely deafening as PSG try to build out from the back. They try to find Mbappe on the left flank but the ball runs out of play, out for a Dortmund throw-in.

William Gittins

Kylian Mbappe looks to make Champions League history

PSG, quite famously, have never won the Champions League. For all money, time and effort that the club's Qatari owners have spent, the failure to bring European success is a major frustration for the team and its fans.

Kylian Mbappe may well leave Paris this summer but he has the chance to make history in his final season. Ahead of the game Dortmund midfielder Emre Can admitted that Mbappe is "probably the best player in the world" but insisted they would not be distracted from the task at hand.

He said: "It's the question you hear the most: 'How do you stop Kylian Mbappe?' But if you focus only on Kylian Mbappe, then comes Ousmane Dembele or [Goncalo] Ramos, or Vitinha, or [Achraf] Hakimi, or [Randal] Kolo Muani and all the others," he said. "They have unbelievable quality."

Team news for Borussia Dortmund - PSG

Here's another look at the starting XIs for this Champions League semi-final. Dortmund will likely start with Niclas Fullkrug as a lone striker, aided by a trio of Jadon Sancho, Karim Adeyemi and Julian Brandt behind him. For PSG it's a fluid front three with Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola.

William Gittins

Zaire-Emery goes one better than Mbappe

PSG youngster Warren Zaire-Emery has been a revelation since breaking through into the first team and he is named in the starting XI for this Champions League semi-final. In doing so, Zaire-Emery becomes the second-youngest player to start a game at this stage of the competition

He beats the age at which teammate Kylian Mbappe featured for Monaco in the 2016/17 competition, but is a few months short of the record set by former PSG forward Julian Draxler.

William Gittins

PSG confirmed team news!

And here's how the visitors line up. It's the same starting XI that secured an impressive 4-1 away win against Barcelona in the quarter-final. As expected, Kylian Mbappe looks set to lead the line as the central striker for Luis Enrique's side.

William Gittins

Marcel Sabitzer starts for Borussia Dortmund

The midfielder returns to the starting XI after being rested for the 4-1 Bundesliga loss against RB Leipzig last weekend. These two teams were in the same group in this year's competition and will now reunite in the semi-finals, with a place in the Champions League final on the line.
