According to L’Équipe, the former Real Madrid coach is a potential candidate to replace Tite with the future of Deschamps with France key to any potential move.

The immediate future of Zidane in a coaching capacity remains unclear. The 50-year-old continues to dream of taking over the reins of the French team, but as things stand, everything indicates that current coach Didier Deschamp is going to renew his contract, at least through to 2024. This scenario could open new horizons for Zizou and one of the possible outcomes could see the former Real Madrid man succeeding Tite as Brazil head coach.

As reported by L’Équipe, the CBF is looking for a manager with a foreign profile, with Zidane, Marcelo Gallardo, Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino and Roberto Martínez all being considered as alternatives by the Brazilian FA.

Deschamps holding out for 2026 deal

Since his departure from Real Madrid, the three-time Champions League winner as coach has rejected all offers, one of them from PSG. At present a question mark surrounds Deschamps staying on as head coach with the 54-year-old looking for a four year deal and FFF boss Le Graet anxious to offer Deschamps a deal that would run through to the European Championship that takes place in Germany in 2024.

The last foreigner to lead the Canarinha was Flipo Nuñez in 1965 and the status and esteem that Zidane is held in the world of football would make him an attractive proposition for the Brazilian FA as the selecao now set their sights on the 2024 Copa America.
