Brazil has an impressive record at the World Cup- they’re the only country to have qualified for each tournament since it was launched in 1930. They are also the nation who has won the most trophies, with five of them to their name.

According to FIFA, the country is heading into the competition with the No. 1 overall ranking. They will be looking to end a 20-year drought, as the team has not won the World Cup since 2002. They also hope to improve on their performance four years ago, when they were defeated by Belgium in the quarter finals.

Brazil’s World Cup success

Brazil is considered the most successful team in the FIFA World Cup not just because of their trophies. They have also delivered the best overall performance, tallying 73 wins in the 109 games that they have played.

The Selecao will enter their first matchup in Group G against Serbia with a 15-game winning streak across all competitions, and are highly favored to win especially as they have won both their two previous matches against their opponent.
