MLS and Inter Miami fever is growing in Argentina with the Buenos Aires based Filial del Inter Miami (Inter Miami supporters group) now 400 strong as fans of the Herons in the Argentine capital set to meet up for the first time in an official capacity to watch the 2023 US Open Cup final.

Leo Messi’s arrival at the South Florida club in July has generated an unprecedented global boom for the league with fans in Messi’s native Argentina set to meet as Tata Martino’s men face Houston Dynamo with Miami hoping to secure their second ever major trophy after winning the 2023 Leagues Cup during the summer months.

Speaking to Argentine outlet Olé, organiser Cacho stated that the idea to start the group was prompted by Instagram: “Many people messaged me on Instagram and told me that they can’t watch the Inter Miami games. So I posted a story saying that I was interested in setting up a branch in the country so that everyone who wanted to watch the games and support Inter Miami from Argentina could come together. I got a plenty of messages with lots of proposals and our idea for the group is that it’s a family-friendly place without any barra bravas types.”

Since the official creation of the Filial del Inter Miami just a number of days ago, interest has been phenomenal with 400 people already signing up for membership as Buenos Aires based supporters plan to meet up on Wednesday night and watch the Open Cup final.

Leo Messi’s presence in the final is by no means guaranteed with the Argentine still suffering from a hamstring strain that has forced coach Martino to rest the player in recent MLS games.
