Cade Cowell has become a starter and one of the key pieces in Fernando Gago’s Chivas team and the attacker will be part of the United States squad for the CONCACAF Nations League. “It’s great, I’m happy,” he said on the ‘We Goat You’ programme. “I couldn’t be more proud to represent both Mexican and American nationalities, so it’s been great. Obviously, I was born in America (United States) and I’ve lived there all my life, but now I finally got to live a different life here, where my grandfather was born, so I got to see a little bit of what it’s like.”

“I think on the one hand it gives me something to do here, when I have my Spanish classes or I’m studying Duolingo. Talking to my classmates is always fun, asking a lot of questions. I think my favourite phrase, or my most used phrase is ‘cómo se dice’, because I have to ask what everything means or what exactly the word is. I’m definitely improving. Obviously I’m nowhere near where I need to be, but it’s okay, it’ll take time,” he explained.

Finally, the Rebaño Sagrado player clarified that he is a fan of Mexican cuisine. “Pozole is my favourite dish, but there is a lot of delicious food here. I’ve tried a lot of things. I’ve tried tacos al pastor, which I really liked but pozole is definitely my favourite,” he added. So far, Cowell has three goals for Chivas, two of which have come in the CONCACAF Champions League and another in the Clausura 2024 against Pumas.
