Canada possible starting lineup for game 3 of the group stage vs Morocco

Though they can no longer advance in the tournament, Canada will be hoping to make history by recording their first ever win at a FIFA World Cup

Update:
Canada possible starting lineup for game 3 of the group stage vs Morocco

As they prepare for their final game of the group, we’re taking a look at the predicted starting 11s for Morocco and Canada in a clash that will ultimately decide the fate of the North Africans.

Canada vs Morocco: The Lay of the Land

Following a classy win against Belgium in their last game, it would be logical to assume that Morocco won’t be making any major changes to their lineup. Now sitting in second place in Group F, the North African outfit is level on points with Croatia and could seal their spot in the Round of 16 with a win over Canada. Indeed, depending on results between Belgium and Croatia, they could even secure a top placed finish which would see them avoid a showdown with Spain in the next round. Where worries are concerned, we did see that Achraf Hakimi came off in the second-half against Belgium, however, it’s understood that it will not be an issue for the clash with Canada. That also seems to be the case where Noussair Mazraoui is concerned, after the left-back overcame the injury scare that he had in the opening match against Croatia. Expect him to start.

Regarding Canada, they will enter their third match in the World Cup knowing that it will be their last, following two defeats which in turn have left them with zero points. Junior Hoile will like return to the lineup, after being dropped against Belgium, while Jonathan David will be hoping to finally show what he’s made of following what has been a fairly disappointing tournament. Once again eyes will be on Canada’s star and Bayern Munich player, Alphonso Davies, who is the scorer of his country’s only goal in Qatar. Indeed, Davies will once again be expected to lead the way if Canada are to get anything positive from a group stage that has seen them impress, but fail to win.
