The list of candidates to be inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in the United States for 2023 has been announced, with the inclusion of Landon Donovan, who is considered the best American soccer player and the most important member of the United States National Team in its history.

For years it was evident that Donovan was on the path to the Hall of Fame, with a career spanning over 20 years as a professional, in which he registered 170 goals and 123 assists in MLS. This is in addition to military service in Europe and having 57 goals with the USMNT to be the top scorer together with Clint Dempsey.

Along with the celebrated number ’10′ of the American team, there are former members of the national team such as DaMarcus Beasly, Ricardo Clark, Benny Feilhaber or Jermaine Jones, who are also candidates to be enthroned as top football figures in the country.

Europeans with a career in MLS are considered

Athletes like David Beckham, Thierry Henry, Robbie Keane and Carlos ‘Pescadito’ Ruíz, although not Americans, are also on the list with their counterparts from the United States, since they also spent some time playing in MLS.
