How many matches is Casemiro suspended for after red card against Southampton?
Casemiro was sent off in the first half at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Casemiro received a straight red card in the first half of Manchester United’s Premier League fixture with Southampton at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The former Real Madrid man was sent off in the 34th minute of the match for a tackle that caught Southampton player Carlos Alcaraz just above the ankle.
After being advised to review the incident on the pitch-side monitor, referee Anthony Taylor upgraded the tackle from a yellow card to a red card.
The Brazilian midfielder apologised to Alcaraz for his studs-up tackle and left the field of play as United came to grips with going down to 10 men.
Casemiro out for four games after red card
The Brazil international will now be suspended for the next four games as he has already been sent off for a straight red card this season. His previous red came against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford in February following an altercation with Palace midfielder Will Hughes.
Casemiro will miss the following fixtures for United:
Fulham (H) - 19 March, FA Cup
Newcastle United (A) - 2 April, Premier League
Brentford (H) - 5 April, Premier League
Everton (H) - 8 April, Premier League
When will he be able to return to action?
He will be eligible to return to action against Nottingham Forest on 15 April.
The game between United and Southampton was goalless at the time of the red card.
