Edinson Cavani will soon be on the move again. The Uruguayan striker will leave Manchester United this summer. He doesn’t figure in incoming manager Erik Ten Hag’s plans and will be released. Ten Hag has yet to arrive at Old Trafford - he is honouring the final months of his contract with Ajax, but in the meantime, he has been planning an overhaul of the squad and designing the team that will start the new season. One of the players whose fate has been confirm is Cavani.

Not that is such a big problem for the player - he has no shortage of interest and offers. Cavani may soon be lighting up La Bombonera with Boca Juniors. Cavani knows he is on the transfer list and he is already chewing over the idea of playing in Argentina. It’s not the first time that Boca Juniors have pursued him - but now seems an ideal moment.

Cavani frozen out at United

With just two goals this season and a bit part within the side, El Matador had renewed his contract last year thinking that he would have a more prominent role in 2021/22. However it hasn’t turned out that way. Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival drastically reduced his chances of getting regular playing time - he not only had to cede his place in the XI to the Portuguese star, but also his No.7 shirt. According to The Mirror, Boca Juniors, who were eager to sign him last summer, are in prime position to take him to Buenos Aires. This time, for good.
