Real Madrid are preparing to enter the transfer market once again this summer. After Borja Mayoral’s 10 million euro transfer to Getafe, the Spanish champions are now hoping to release Mariano. According to SER Deportivos reports, Celta have the Spanish-Dominican striker in mind to strengthen their attack.

Real Madrid are trying to convince Mariano to leave the club this summer, which will not be an easy task at all. But if it happens, Madrid would sound out the market to sign another striker who could replace undisputed first-choice, Karim Benzema.

Mariano has no place in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans. He has played a total of 73 games in both of his two spells at the club, in which he has scored 12 goals and provided three assists. Since returning to Spain from Ligue 1 in 2018, he has not been able to convince any of the coaches who have occupied the Madrid bench. According to Olocip, the 29-year-old has a market value of 7 million euros. Celta’s problem is not in the cost of the transfer, but in the player’s salary - the main reason why Mariano has stayed where he is as many clubs cannot afford to pay his wages.
