Chelsea are PSG’s new transfer market enemy

The relationship between the two teams is broken after Ziyech’s failed loan on the last day of the transfer market.

A new mess and new enemy for PSG, again after a transfer window. The relationship between PSG and Chelsea is now broken, after the French team accused the London side of sending Ziyech’s loan documentation incorrectly, up to three times, preventing the attacker from reaching Paris until the end of the season. PSG’s board is upset with Chelsea’s and according to reports in England, they consider that the transfer of the Moroccan was handled like a circus.

The signed documents arrived three minutes after the deadline to be able to register new players in France and, in the end, Ligue 1 did not validate the signing of Ziyech. The player will stay at Chelsea until the end of the season, despite the fact that he no longer has a place in the English team. The Sun points out that the PSG board of directors assures that “it is all Chelsea’s fault. They were not professional”.

PSG will punish Chelsea with silence

PSG will limit any transfers between the two teams, and will negotiate as little as possible with them. The cold relationship between the two sides has not always been like this, since transfers such as David Luis or Thiago Silva have taken place between the two teams with no issues. However, it is not the first time that PSG have made an enemy for themselves in a transfer window.

Before Chelsea, other teams had already had problems with PSG during the market. The previous enemy was Real Madrid, with the failed transfer of Mbappé, in which PSG did not respond to the offers sent by Los Blancos in the summer of 2021, when they tried to pay almost €200 million to sign the Frenchman. Since then, the relationship between PSG and Real Madrid has been broken.

Is anybody going to be friends with PSG?

FC Barcelona don’t have a great relationship with the French team either, ever since they decided to pay Neymar’s release clause in the summer of 2017 to take the Brazilian to Paris. The relationship with PSG since the arrival of Laporta has in fact improved, but there are still no negotiations between the two teams.

And so, PSG has gone back to having a nemesis when it comes to the transfer market: this time it is Chelsea. It is not the first and certainly won’t be the last.
