Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign David Datro Fofana from Norwegian outfit Molde.

The Ivory Coast international will join the Stamford Bridge side on 1 January.

A club statement on Wednesday read: “Chelsea FC has reached a pre-agreement with Molde FK for the transfer of David Datro Fofana.

“The 20-year-old striker will join the Blues on 1 January 2023. We look forward to welcoming David to the club.”

Fofana made his debut for the Ivory Coast in a 4-0 friendly win against Burundi in November.

He finished the 2022 season with 15 goals and five assists in the Norwegian top flight and netted 21 times in all competitions.

The 20-year-old was a target for other Premier League clubs but Chelsea have acted swiftly and got their man, who will add firepower to their attack.
