Chinese rocket affects Spanish football team’s flight
LaLiga Santander, one of the biggest leagues in the world, was directly, if mildly, impacted by the ‘out of control’ booster debris risk.
Athletic’s expedition from Bilbao to Girona to play in Friday’s evening game against the Catalan team suffered a slight delay in the departure of the charter flight at Loiu airport due to air space problems derived from the uncontrolled fall of a Chinese rocket. The risk has seen several airports around the world impacted.

The Lions boarded half an hour later than planned, at 11 am local time, but with still enough time to arrive for lunch at their hotel. The expedition was scheduled to land in Girona to allow time for preparations at the Hotel Palau de Bellavista at 12:15 pm.
“These things happen,” commented Mikel Balenziaga in Loiu to SER, seemingly having quite a good understanding of how often this situation has occurred. “The important thing is the game.”
