Chivas crisis epitomised with no players called up for Mexico squad

The Mexican national team continues to prepare for the Concacaf Nations League with the 2024 Copa América and 2026 World Cup looming large on the horizon. El Tri coach Jaime Lozano confirmed the list of 26 players who will be involved as Mexico face Ghana and Germany. The squad features a series of changes from the list who played in the last round of September friendly games.

Chivas and Club America have always been the source of homegrown talent for the Mexican team and for the first time in a considerable while, an El Tri features no players from the Sacred Flock as the club undergo a complicated period both on and off the field with Alexis Vega the key absentee.
