Chivas head to Spain ahead of two friendly games

The Guadalajara side will play two friendly matches against Getafe and Athletic Bilbao, as part of their preseason towards the Clausura 2023.

Chivas Guadalajara are on their way to Europe as they travel to Spain to to play two friendly games (against LaLiga sides Getafe and Athletic) as preparation continues ahead of the Clausura 2023 tournament. The team led by the new head coach Serbian Veljko Paunovic departed with a delegation made up of 26 players.

25 players traveled directly from Guadalajara, while Sebastián Pérez Bouquet will join up with the squad directly in Madrid after arriving in the Spanish capital from Doha after his time in the Gulf with the Mexican National Team.

Both José Juan Macías and Hiram Mier stayed in Guadalajara, as they both still injured and are working on their rehabilitation process. In Spain new sports director Fernando Hierro will also join up with the Chivas delegation.

Chivas’ squad for the two games in Spain are goalkeepers Miguel Jiménez, Raúl Rangel and Antonio Rodríguez. Defenders Antonio Briseño, Gilberto Sepúlveda, Luis Olivas, Gilberto Orozco, Jesús Sánchez, Alan Mozo, Alejandro Mayorga and Cristian Calderón.

Midfielders: Eduardo Torres, Sergio Flores, Rubén González, Fernando Beltrán, Jesús Angulo, Sebastián Pérez Bouquet, Pavel Pérez, Marioni Ham, Zahid Muñoz and strikers: Ángel Zaldívar, Santiago Ormeño, Ronaldo Cisneros, Luis Puente, Carlos Cisneros and Isaac Brizuela.
