Christian Pulisic breaks Landon Donovan’s USMNT record
The United States men’s national team ace has more assists in less appearances than former legend, Landon Donovan.
Christian Pulisic is the natural successor to Landon Donovan with the United States men’s national team and he is living up to the expectations. The 23-year-old now has now bagged 21 goals and provided 10 assists with the USMNT after the 3-0 win over Morocco on Wednesday and he can increase those numbers on Sunday against Uruguay.
It took 50 games for Landon Donovan to reach 10 assists with the United States men’s national team and Christian Pulisic did it in 49. The 23-year-old is in top form with the USMNT and he aims to one day break all the records established by Landon Donovan during his 14-years playing career.
Donovan’s numbers with the USMNT
The former United States international scored a total of 57 goals and provided 58 assists in 157 appearances during his playing career with the national team. Christian Pulisic has a lot of ground to cover but he is only 23-years-old and a lot of games left at the international level.
What is next for Pulisic?
The United States men’s national team has been busy during the international break of June and they started with a 3-0 win over Morocco. On Sunday they will continue to play another friendly against Uruguay and then they will have two games in the start of the CONCACAF Nations League. Next week, the USMNT will play against Grenada and El Salvador.
