Christian Pulisic made the move to Italy last summer in a bid to rediscover his form and the AC Milan forward has already justified that decision. The USMNT star has been in terrific form for the Italian giants and has found his scoring touch once again.

The 25-year-old fell out of favour at Chelsea towards the end of his spell in England but has looked reborn in Milan. On Sunday he scored again in his side’s 3-1 victory over Hellas Verona, restating their credentials as the second-best team in Italy this year.

Pulisic was on hand to tap home from close range after Noah Okafor had forced a sharp save from the Verona goalkeeper. That goal was Pulisic’s 12th goal for AC Milan, bettering his previous best tally in a single season. Here’s a breakdown of his 12 goals in all competitions, courtesy of our friends at Sofascore...

Nine of those goals have come in the league, where he has also contributed a further six assists for teammates. With 15 goal involvements from 27 appearances Pulisic has been one of the players of the season in Italy’s top flight this year.

Pulisic finds form at the perfect time for USMNT

At his best, Christian Pulisic remains one of the most dynamic wide forwards in the world. His close control and agility make him a real menace between the lines and he’s now putting up the sort of numbers that his talent demands.

Still only 25 years old he is the leader for the United States national team and he will be crucial for Gregg Berhalter’s side in a busy year of international soccer.

USMNT take on Jamaica later this week in the semi-final of the CONCACAF Nations League. If they are successful they will face either Panama or Mexico in the final, granting them the chance to win the CONCACAF competition for a third consecutive edition.

But the real focus for Berhalter’s side will be this summer’s Copa América, hosted in the United States, in which the US could come up against the likes of Brazil and Argentina. It offers the chance to test themselves against elite opposition ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which the US is also hosting.

Pulisic’s USMNT have been drawn in a Copa América group alongside Bolivia, Panama and Uruguay. The latter have one of the strongest squads in the competition but the US will be aiming to progress from the group. Beyond that their prospects are unknown, but Pulisic will likely be central to any success for USMNT this year.
