Hirving Lozano could have his days numbered at Napoli, who have given the Mexican an ultimatum. The position of Aurelio De Laurentiis, president of the club, with Chucky is clear: renew with a reduction in his salary or leave the club this summer, with the risk that if an offer does not arrive he could be relegated to the stands.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian club are making it difficult for Lozano with the aim of not letting him leave for free next year when his contract with the club, which expires in June 2024, comes to an end. Napoli also want the player to lower his salary because they consider the €4.5 million he currently receives to be too much for what he has delivered on the pitch.

Same salary as Osimhen

The newspaper notes that Lozano and Osimhen receive the same salary, but that the club considers the Mexican’s salary to be too high due to his low goalscoring output. “The Nigerian’s (Victor Osimhen’s salary) is the same as Lozano’s, who in recent seasons under Spalletti has scored just 10 goals in 78 games.”

If Lozano does not accept the conditions, De Laurentis has reportedly informed him that he will be sold in the summer transfer window and if there is no offer for him, he will not be used by coach Rudi Garcia.

Lozano has reported for Napoli’s preseason training camp ahead of the Serie A start on 19 August.
