The competition has been loaded in favour of the US based sides has been a criticism of the new expanded Leagues Cup and although this is a view held by many, LAFC striker Carlos Vela would like to see more Canadian clubs participate with games staged in all three nations (US, Mexico and Canada)

The victor from the shoot out would be the side to top Central 1 and play the runners-up from Central 2 in the Round of 32.
