Colombia confirm friendlies against South Korea and Japan

‘La Tri’ will play two friendly matches in Asia against S. Korea and Japan in preparation for the South American Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

The Colombia national team continues its preparation for the South American Qualifiers for the 2026 United States/Canada/Mexico hosted World Cup.

Following their recent low key first friendly against the United States, the Colombian Football Federation confirmed two preparation matches that the national team will play during the next FIFA window.

Néstor Lorenzo’s side will travel to Asia where they will play two friendly matches. The first test will be against the South Korean National Team, which still has no confirmed venue and four days later they will face the Japanese National Team in Osaka.

“The Sports Department of the Colombian Football Federation confirmed this Monday that the Colombian Senior Team will visit Asia to play two friendly matches on the FIFA date of March,” the Colombian Football Federation reported in a press release.

The Colombian National Team has faced Japan five times, two in World Cups, two in friendly matches and one in the Confederations Cup. The balance is three games won, one tied and one lost.

‘La Tri’ has faced South Korea in six friendly games with one win, two draws and three losses.
