Who are CONCACAF 5 and 6?

Good question! So far only 14 of the 16 teams in the 2024 Copa America have been confirmed, with the other two places to be decided in CONCACAF playoffs next March.

For now those potential qualifiers are known simply as CONCACAF 5 and CONCACAF 6, the final two members of CONCACAF's six entrants.

CONCACAF 5 is the winner of Canada and Trinidad & Tobago

CONCACAF 6 is the winner of Honduras and Costa Rica.

USMNT Copa America group

Hosts USMNT were drawn in Group C of the 2024 Copa America. They drew in-form Uruguay in Pot 2, perhaps the toughest option, but got more favourable draws with Panama and Bolivia in the following two Pots.

Two teams will progress from each group, so Gregg Berhalter's side should be very confident of making it to the knockout stages.

The Copa America trophy is brought on-stage by Lionel Scaloni. As head coach of reigning champions Argentina he is the one trusted to return the silverware back to the draw venue.

He has already picked up a World Cup with the Albiceleste, can he add another major trophy next summer?

We await the draw, let's have a look at the ball

I spoke too soon. We're now being treated to a lengthy explainer on the process of upkeeping and updating the iconic Copa America trophy.

It's interesting stuff, but it tells us little about the key fixtures to look forward to next summer.
