Cheers and don't forget that in a week's time we'll have the draw for the semi-finals of the 2022-23 Copa del Rey.
Following the draw, it's hard not to put forward FC Barcelona as favourites to lift yet another Copa del Rey title on 6 May with Osasuna down as the dark horses of the eight. The side from Pamplona are the only team left in the quarter finals to have never lifted the Copa!
Could this be the year when the 2022-23 title heads to Navarra?
Barcelona-Real Sociedad
History on the side of the Catalan side
Barcellona have got the measure of Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey with Catalan side only losing 3 of the 33 meetings against the men from San Sebastian in cup clashes.
Those three defeats 3 defeats in 33 matches came in the Basque city too.
Will this be the year when Imano's side can buck this trend?

The El Sadar faithful have been patient in waiting to see their side in action in the Copa del Rey.
Finally after 15 away games this season and in previous years, the home fans will get to see their side in Pamplona next week as they take on Sevilla.

Next week's cup game will be the 26th Madrid derby in the Copa del Rey. The previous derby was in the Round of 6 in 2014-15, which Atlético prevailed with a 2-0 win in the first leg at the Calderón and a 2-2 draw in the second leg at the Bernabéu.

The Madrid derby is the tie that really stands out with Atleti fans desperate to get one over on their capital city rivals but home advantage should be enough to get Madrid over the line.
Osasuna should fancy their chances against a struggling Sevilla.
Athletic will be out to get revenge over Valencia for last year's semi-final defeat in an evenly matched contest but once again, home advantage should see Gattuso's men advance to the semi finals.
Finally, despite an excellent season to date for Real Sociedad, Barcelona will have too much at their Camp Nou ground and should progress.

We're joined now by Edinson Cavani from Paterna in Valencia with 'El Matador' on target twice as 'Los Che' ran out 0-4 winners over Sporting Gijon on Wednesday night.
Valencia were the beaten finalists last season falling to Real Betis on a penalty shoot out after the game ended 1-1 after 120 minutes of action.
We're nearly at the draw stage as we review the final midweek ties.
Ricardo Lopez (ex Atleti, Osasuna and Man United stopper) will be the man on hand today to draw the balls from the bowl.

Osasuna the only side in the eight who have never lifted the Copa del Rey.
Sergio Herrera now joins us with the Osasuna keeper very much the hero on Wednesday night as the side from Pamplona advanced on penalty shoot out beating reigning cup holders Real Betis.
Robert Navarro (Real Sociedad) joins us from the Zubieta training centre with the player having scored in all of the four rounds as the Basque sides advance in the 2022-23 Copa del Rey.

The eight survivors
A reminder of the eight teams remaining in the competition this season with all sides LaLiga Santander outfits:
Real Sociedad - Sevilla - Valencia - Athletic Club - Atlético Madrid - Osasuna - Real Madrid - FC Barcelona
Barcelona fans keen for a 'Clasico'
Motivated by the Spanish Super Cup win in Riyadh, Barça fans seem to be in no doubt as to who they'd like to face in the quarter-final with a certain team in white (no, not Valencia or Sevilla) a popular potential rival for Culès.

Thursday night wins for Real Madrid and FC Barcelona to complete the final eight teams.
Given that the 'big two' were involved in the final of the Spanish Super Cup last Sunday, the RFEF were forced to schedule their respective Round of 16 games on Thursday.
FC Barcelona few to the autonomous city of Ceuta (located in North Africa) by helicopter and were too strong for the third tier side running out 0-5 winners.
In Vila-Real, Carlo Ancelotti's men trailed 2-0 at the interval to Quique Setien's team but three second half goals from 'Los Blancos' turned the tide and Madrid advanced to the 1/4 finals.
Athletic Club sounding out their fans
The Basque side has a very special relationship with the Copa del Rey and a trip to San Mames is one that no side will relish.

All eyes on La Cartuja for May final
Seville's La Cartuja Stadium will once again host the Copa del Rey final with the venue possibly serving as a boost for Sevilla FC.
Jorge Sampaoli's side will have seen how Real Betis enjoyed the 'home city advantage' last year and the red and white side of the city may look to the cup as a pleasant distraction from their woes in LaLiga.
The final will be played on 6 May incindetally.
Nothing but respect between Betis and Osasuna
Real Betis beat Osasuna in the 2005 final and after the men from Pamplona progressed on Wednesday night in this year's competition, the Osasuna Twitter account reminded Betis if the dignified way their supporters behaved after defeat this year and they magnanimous way the Andalusians were back in 2005.

Real Madrid fans keen for home tie
There are no easy teams in today's draw with any side well capable of beating any other on their day. That's why a home draw is a positive for the teams looking to progress in the competition.
Of the eight, Sevilla are lowest ranked in the current LaLiga table as the Andalusian side are penultimate in the rankings.

The total draw proceedings we expect to take roughly 20-30 minutes.

The sides that do remain would all fancy their chances to go all the way and secure a place in the May final which will be, once again staged in Seville's Estadio de la Cartuja but today's draw could be key with a home fixture very much a stepping stone to advancing.
The Round of 16 threw up little in the way of major shocks with the only surprise was that of holders Real Betis being beaten at home (on a penalty shoot out) by Osasuna, but all four of the lower league sides in Ceuta, Levante and Sporting Gijon being well beaten by LaLiga opposition. Only Sevilla toiled to advance and were probably second best against a solid Alaves side but one effort on target and one goal from Rakitic was all it took to see Jorge Sampaoli's men advance.
The eight remaining teams in the competition all hail from the top flight and are:
Real Sociedad
Sevilla
Valencia
Athletic Club
Osasuna
Atletico Madrid
FC Barcelona
Real Madrid
The draw itself gets underway at 1pm local time which is 7am (ET) and 4am (PT).
The draw takes place at the Salon Luis Aragones which is the man function room at the Spanish FA headquarters in the Las Rozas suburb of Madrid.
