Could USMNT star Christian Pulisic leave Chelsea in the January transfer window?
Christian Pulisic could leave Chelsea in search of regular game time, with Newcastle showing the most serious interest in the USMNT attacker.
After some impressive performances for the USMNT at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, in which he scored one goal and assisted two more, there is plenty of interest in Christian Pulisic from Premier League teams, who are looking to add him to their roster in the January transfer window.
According to various online sources, and as reported by the Daily Mirror, there is firm interest from Newcastle United in signing ‘Captain America’ from Chelsea. Magpies boss Eddie Howe believes the signing of the American would be a real coup for the St James’ Park outfit and is ready to move other players on in order to make room for Pulisic’s arrival.
The former Borussia Dortmund winger has struggled for game time at Chelsea since making the move to Stamford Bridge from Germany and the prospect of becoming a regular starter for Newcastle would make the potential move to the north-east of England an appealing one for the American. Prior to the World Cup, Pulisic had only started three of Chelsea’s 14 Premier League games in 2022-23 and played 415 minutes out of a possible 1260 in the league.
Manchester United and Arsenal also interested in Christian Pulisic
However, the Magpies are not the only club interested in snapping up the USMNT star. Manchester United and Arsenal are also monitoring Pulisic and the developing situation with Newcastle. The Red Devils and the Gunners, however, are looking to sign the player on a loan deal, whereas Howe would like a permanent move for Pulisic.
