One of Cristiano Ronaldo’s array of luxury cars has been involved in an accident on the Spanish island of Mallorca, although the footballer himself is understood not to have been in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

Occupants of vehicle unhurt in collision in west Mallorca

Ronaldo’s Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, said to be valued at around $2.2 million, is reported by Última Hora Mallorca to have crashed in Bunyola, in western Mallorca, at around 11am local time on Monday (5am ET).

According to eye-witness accounts, the driver of the Bugatti Veyron - who was an employee of the Manchester United and Portugal star - lost control of the car, leading it to spin off the road and collide with the entrance to an estate. The vehicle also hit butane canisters stored at the site of the accident.

The occupants of the car were unhurt, and gave statements to traffic police.

Ronaldo and family on holiday on island

Ronaldo and his family are currently on holiday on Mallorca, the largest of Spain’s Balearic islands, which are located off the east coast of the country.

Together with partner Georgina Rodríguez, his children and friends, Ronaldo is staying at a luxury mansion at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana, a mountain range on Mallorca. Per reports, the property’s wealth of amenities include a gym, jacuzzis, swimming pools, sports pitches - and an ‘underground erotic room’.
