Cristiano Ronaldo’s son on trial at Real Madrid
The legend’s son is training with Los Blancos as the club takes a closer look at one of Europe’s most closely watched young prospects.

Cristiano is in Madrid... and with Madrid. Not the club’s all-time leading scorer, but Junior, his son. Because at Valdebebas, as first reported by The Athletic and confirmed by AS, the 15-year-old striker is on trial with the club. Cristiano has been part of Real Madrid’s Cadete A side since Monday and will continue training with them as the club takes a closer look. It is an evaluation aimed at weighing up a possible future move. For now, there have been two sessions, but more are on the way.
His fit within Carlos Cura’s group was immediate. On the field, the sessions were shaped by the postponed game the team plays today against Rayo Vallecano. With the son of the club legend involved like any other player, he spent most of the time contributing as a winger, though the drills were largely focused on preparing for the game. On a personal level, however, those at Valdebebas have highlighted his character. “Super humble and polite,” they say. A perfect first impression.

The evaluation will continue in the coming sessions. And it will come in an elite environment, among the best players in his age group. His new teammates, at least for the duration of the trial, are dominating their division. They lead the Cadet Super League with 19 wins and one draw from 20 games, with 70 goals scored and only nine conceded. What is more, despite having two postponed games still to make up, including one today, they hold an eight-point lead over Atlético. It is a generation that features standouts such as Gorka Abascal, Aitor Torondel, Carlos Sánchez, Unai Ordóñez and goalkeeper Izan Ramírez. And now Cristiano Jr. will be among them for this stretch.
Cristiano Jr., 15, currently plays in Al Nassr’s youth ranks and stands out as a promising striker and right winger in the Saudi club’s academy, known for his speed, agility and technique, with a physique beyond his years. He is following in his father’s footsteps and has already made his debut for Portugal’s Under-16 national team.
He previously played in the youth systems at Manchester United and Juventus, following the path of his father’s career at both clubs. As AS previously reported, Real Madrid are not the only team keeping a close eye on the young forward, with several European clubs tracking his progress.
