Cruz Azul have an exciting future prospect who is starting to deliver in the here and now: Rodrigo Huescas. The 19-year-old is enjoying a rich vein of form for the Liga MX club, establishing himself as a regular in Ricardo ‘Tuca’ Ferretti’s side.

Huescas’ notable characteristic is his versatility, as the Mexican can play as a centre-forward, on either wing or even in midfield. His qualities have started to attract attention from Europe, specifically the Bundesliga.

€5m transfer fee for Huescas?

According to a report by Fussball Transfers, Huescas is under contract until 2025, so any team that wants to sign the teenager will have to negotiate with Cruz Azul. The media outlet says La Máquina would be willing to do business for a sum of around €5 million.

Cruz Azul tough negotiators

However, it should be noted that Cruz Azul have earned a reputation as a club who are not easy to negotiate with. In 2022, Orbelín Pineda had to wait until the end of his contract in Mexico City before he could join LaLiga club Celta Vigo.

What’s more, Uriel Antuna was recently a target for Panathinaikos, but was blocked from moving to the Greek club.
