Jürgen Damm looks to be on his way out of Club América after reportedly being banished from the Liga MX club’s first-team squad.
Damm not in América boss Ortiz’s plans
According to TUDN’s Gibrán Araige, Damm has been relegated to América’s under-20s squad as head coach Fernando Ortiz feels he doesn’t fit the 13-time Mexican champions’ style of play.
And the winger appears to agree with Ortiz’s assessment that he should find a new club. Indeed, before the Clausura 2023 tournament began in January, he reportedly told América that he wants out over his lack of game time.
Limited to one brief run-out in Clausura
After being restricted to six appearances in the Apertura 2022, Damm has featured for only eight minutes in the Clausura 2023. The 30-year-old is out of contract in June.
Capped 12 times by Mexico, Damm joined América from MLS team Atlanta United in June 2022.
