The alleged rape carried out by Dani Alves continues to give rise to much talk. The footballer, who is holding onto hope regarding his defence’s new resource to get him out of jail, is making a new life that he would never have imagined inside the Brians II prison. As expected, the Brazilian’s adaptation to his new life is complicated due to the serious accusation he faces for sexually assaulting a young woman in a Barcelona nightclub on December 30.

However, according to Mayka Navarro, Alves’ fellow prisoners, who initially had focussed their attention on the ex-footballer, are in charge of making it easier for their new partner to acclimatise inside this prison, located in Sant Esteve Sesrovires.

The journalist indicates that all the information that comes to light about the footballer’s new life in prison is drawn from “multiple sources, official and unofficial, inside and outside” the jail. In fact, inmates are exposed to harsh penalties if they leak what they shouldn’t, something which they have been previously warned of by officials.

One of the most relevant and outstanding testimonies relates to Alves’ debut as a footballer in a match with other prisoners that took place last Thursday in the courtyard. The source assures that the expectations were high, since many of the inmates wanted to see the Brazilian’s football qualities up close due to his enormous legacy in sport.

"I will accept what comes"

On the other hand, inmates say that Alves has taken onboard a large part of everything that has happened in recent times, basing their judgement on the attitude he shows when interacting with fellow prisoners. “Dani, here, is just another person”, says one of them. “I will accept whatever comes. I left home when I was barely 15 years old. I have overcome very difficult and complicated situations in my life. This will be one more that will pass. Nothing scares me”, the Brazilian allegedly assured one of the prisoners.

This is not all, the protagonist of this controversy himself has assured some of the inmates that everything that happened in that nightclub in Barcelona was “with the consent of the woman”, although when he they begin to probe with too many questions, Alves’ answer doesn’t exist, according to one of the inmates.
