Dani Alves rejects Botafogo offer and will stay at Pumas
The Brazilian national team player is anxious to fulfill his contract with the Liga MX side with the current deal expiring in June 2023.
Brazilian defender Dani Alves has reportedly rejected an offer from Serie A side Botafogo in his native Brazil with the veteran anxious to fulfill the current contract he has with Pumas UNAM.
According to UOL Esporte, Botafogo made an approach looking to secure Alves’ services for the 2023 season, however, the 39-year-old Brazilian declined the offer as his initial objective is to play in the 2023 Liga MX Clausura which gets underway in January.
“In recent days, the veteran player received a proposal from Botafogo which the player ruled out as really wants to fulfil the current contact with Mexican side through to June 2023″, the Brazilian website claimed.
Alves was part of the Brazilian team that played in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, participating in two matches, one of them as a starter and captain.
In the 2022 Apertura, his first season in Liga MX, Alves participated in 12 games with Pumas, all starting, for a total of 1080 minutes.
