Giorgio Chiellini has been one of the most emblematic players in the history of Juventus and his time with the Old Lady is coming to an end. The 37-year-old defender’s contract with the Serie A side expires on 30 June 2023 and Los Angeles Football Club are closely monitoring his situation.

Chiellini tempted by a move to MLS

According to The Athletic, Los Angeles FC offered Giorgio Chiellini a contract for the 2023 Major League Soccer season, but not as a designated player. This would mean that LAFC could only offer the 37-year-old defender up to $1.65 million for one season in MLS and he would have to leave Juventus at the end of the current campaign.

Per the report, it is not clear if the offer is still on the table, but if Chiellini accepted the deal, he would have to join LAFC in the summer. The Los Angeles-based team was not the only ones interested in the Italian international, because Vancouver Whitecaps also approached him with a tempting offer.

Chiellini is one of the most recognized Italian defenders of all time and he has been with Juventus since 2004. The veteran player has more than 550 appearances across all competitions with the Serie A side and won nine Scudettos.
