Cocca’s Mexico reign takes first step
The coaching staff led by Cocca met at the CAR for the arrival of the first group of players. Those who arrived were Carlos Acevedo, Antonio Rodríguez, Néstor Araujo, Jesús Gallardo, Jesús Orozco, Israel Reyes, Gilberto Sepúlveda, Roberto Alvarado , Uriel Antuna, Fernando Beltrán, Alfonso González, Carlos Rodríguez, Luis Romo, Henry Martín and Marcel Ruiz.
Upon arrival, the players underwent individual recovery work because they had just completed action with their teams on Matchday 10 of Clausura 2023. In the evening, the players had dinner with the coaching staff in which they discussed what the work plan will entail and objectives including a successful 2026 World Cup where Mexico, United States and Canada are the host countries.
In a statement from the Mexican national team, it was noted that the only player who did not participate in the recovery work was Héctor Moreno, but Jesús Orozco Chiquete, from Chivas, joined instead.
Their first full training session under the new boss gets going on Monday.
