Diego Lainez did not have a good time in European football. The former Club América player was one of the big talents of Mexican football four years ago but has time in Europe did not go as expected.

In January 2019, Real Betis paid €14 million for Lainez in what seemed like a bargain for what was predicted for the talented midfielder. Unfortunately, the transfer did not work out as expected and his move to Liga MX side Tigres is now imminent.

A failed transfer

Betis expected a different outcome with the Mexican wide man but ended up losing half of what they invested in him. Tigres will pay €7 million for the 22-year-old, who is hoping to reignite his career.

He is currently valued at just €2.5 million on Transfermarkt. According to the same source, the former Águilas player had his highest value from February 2019 to July 2019 (€14 million), €11.5 million more than what he is currently worth.
