Diego Cocca takes training for first time with Mexico
The Argentine coach will start his stint with the national team in the CONCACAF Nations League.
After being eliminated from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the Mexico national team are back in action in the Concacaf Nations League. On Thursday, El Tri will travel to take on Suriname and then return home to host Jamaica at the Estadio Azteca.
On Sunday night, the squad arrived at the High Performance Centre and in the next few hours, the players who play in Europe will join the rest of the squad. Head coach Diego Cocca will take his first official session with the Mexico squad but previously had a mini-training camp where he was in charge and got to know the players who play in Liga MX.
Mexico look for victories
Mexico are in second place in Group A of the CONCACAF Nations League, with four points, while Jamaica have five points and Suriname are bottom with one. Mexico will look to improve on their results to top the group.
The match between Mexico and Suriname is scheduled for Thursday 23 March at 18:00 (Central Mexican time). After that, Cocca’s side will host Jamaica on Monday 27 March at 6pm at the Estadio Azteca.
