Eden Hazard is an illustrious player without a team. The former Real Madrid man has still not found a club and rumours of a premature retirement are growing louder by the day.

The player himself adds fuel to those rumours in the preview of the docu-series (‘Believe’) about the Red Devils (Belgium’s national team) which will be released soon.

“Little by little it’s time to enjoy life with my family and friends, drinking a few Jupiler beers,” Hazard said, which could be taken as a warning that his farewell to professional football could be imminent.

Retiring from Belgium

The former Lille, Chelsea and Real Madrid player received a great tribute in Heysel in June as a farewell to the national team. “I will always be a fan of the (Belgian) Red Devils and of beautiful football, if I could enjoy it. But I’ve always worn that captain’s armband with great honour,” he explains of what it meant to him to be able to say goodbye to his years as a Belgian international in this way.

The docu-series ‘Believe’, which can be followed on VTM GO, takes a look at the day-to-day life of the Belgian national team through various players, including Johan Bakayoko, Amadou Onana, Jan Vertonghen and Hazard himself.
