Eduardo Camavinga was not spared from questions from the French press on Tuesday regarding the future of Kylian Mbappé. The Real Madrid midfielder appeared in front of the media three days before France travel to Faro, Portugal, to face Gibraltar in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.

“Kylian Mbappé's future? He has spoken as you have noted. I have nothing to say. I would be very happy if he were to come to Real Madrid. He is a great player. Everyone would want Mbappé in their team. He made a decision and we have to respect it,” he said at the press conference.

Camavinga, who just completed his second season at Real Madrid, then responded to a question about the PSG player’s attitude. “I haven’t seen him since last night. He’s been his usual self, I haven’t noticed him adopting a different attitude. He’s normal,” he added.

Camavinga also responded to a question about whether he prefers to play left-back or in midfield with the national team. “I wouldn’t say it’s a problem to be at full-back, I played the second half of the season in that position. I’m starting to get my bearings in that position and I’m here to help the squad. The most important thing is to help the team. You have to be versatile.”

Finally, the midfielder spoke about the possible replacement for Karim Benzema at Real Madrid. “I’m not part of Real Madrid’s technical staff, but I trust that they will make the best decisions. We’re not playing FIFA and I trust them to do that.”
