Crystal Palace 0 - 2 Arsenal summary: scores, stats and updates, Premier League 2022
Arsenal look tidy while Palace lack precision
Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta will surely be feeling encouraged by the performance of his charges on what turned out to be an extremely humid London night. The Gunners put on an organized display and went ahead courtesy of a headed goal by Gabriel Martinelli in the 20th minute.
Credit should be given to Palace for the gritty showing, but former Gunners star and current Palace head coach, Patrick Viera will want to ask questions of his forwards. Between Zaha and Eze there were a plethora of chances where cooler heads were needed.
Where Arsenal's second goal was concerned, some might say 'lucky.' Indeed, Saka's shot - or cross - would not have found the net if not for a very favorable deflection, ultimately the goal was judged to be an own goal courtesy of Palace's Marc Guéhi, but rest assured the whole play was the result of very decent work by the Gunners.
With that Arsenal will take the three points from a 2-0 win, while Palace and Viera will be left to figure out what needs attending to first.

What are we getting into with Crystal Palace vs Arsenal
To begin with, there's plenty of optimism at Selhurst Park. Crystal Palace has had a busy summer in terms of recruitment and they will of course be hoping that they can build on that having finished 12th in the league last season. Indeed, former Arsenal legend Patrick Viera - Palace's manager - will have to keep his allegiances in check if he hopes to guide his charges to victory against the Gunners.
If you're interested in trivia, the last time Palace finished in the top half of the table was the 2014-15 campaign and interestingly enough, they opened that season against Arsenal with a 2-1 loss. With that said, it was just last season that the Eagles claimed a 3-0 win against Arsenal, leaving the question as to whether or not they can do it again. Let's find out!
