A message on his Instagram account has fanned the flames suggesting that Roger Martínez’s days as a Club América are numbered.
The Colombian striker published an enigmatic message on his Instagram account that many America fans interpret as a farewell.
“Forever Eagles. Thank you for your support”, was the brief message that the striker published accompanied by an image of him wearing the Aguilas jersey.
Martínez is out of contract with América in six more months, so according to the regulations, the 28-year-old would be a free agent as of next summer and is free to negotiate with other clubs as of January 1st.
In addition, the Águilas need to reduce their quota of foreign player by two to comply with the regulation ten ahead of the 2023 Clausura season which kicks-off on 6 January.
América will open their Clausura 2023 campaign on Saturday, January 7, at 5:00 p.m (local time 6:00 p.m ET) facing the Gallos Blancos del Querétaro at the Azteca stadium.
