Enner Valencia hits shops to help earthquake victims

The Ecuadorian forward went to buy aid material for the people affected by the earthquake that has shaken Turkey and Syria.

The biggest earthquake in the Middle East in the last century struck Turkey and Syria on Monday. The 7.8 magnitude quake caused extensive damage in central and southern Turkey and northern Syria. According to local authorities, the fatalities are feared to be more than 5,000. Faced with an event like this, soccer star Enner Valencia wanted to help those affected by the devastation.

Soccer star Valencia adds earthquake aid

The Ecuadorian striker, who plays for Süper Lig club Fenerbahçe, went to a shopping center to buy mats and tents to distribute among those needing a place to shelter.

In addition, Valencia wrote several messages on his Instagram account and others about the tragic human losses caused by the earthquake and another where he shared the number of AFAD, the organization in charge of Disaster Management and Emergencies in Turkey.

“Terrible news about the earthquake in Turkey. The epicenter was not in Istanbul. Thank God, Enner Valencia and his family are well,” published the player’s agent, Gonzalo Vargas.
