Erling Haaland makes yet more Premier League history, blitzes goalscoring record

Erling Haaland is running out of records to break in the Premier League. The Norwegian star struck again Tuesday during Manchester City’s visit to Fulham, reaching the 100-goal mark in England’s top flight. At Craven Cottage, the 25-year-old forward passed Alan Shearer as the player who needed the fewest games to hit triple digits.

In a match that quickly turned into chaos, Haaland locked in the record just 17 minutes in. He drilled home a first-touch finish off a perfect cross from Jérémy Doku on the left wing. Wearing the No. 9 shirt, Haaland blasted the ball past Bernd Leno, then lifted both hands toward the sky as teammates mobbed him. City ultimately ran out 5-4 winners, but almost surrendered a three-goal lead.

Shearer reached 100 Premier League goals in 124 appearances. Haaland needed only 111. That puts him atop the all time list, ahead of the legendary former Blackburn and Newcastle striker, along with Harry Kane, who hit the mark in 141 games for Tottenham. Next come Sergio Aguero at 147 for Manchester City and Thierry Henry with 160 for Arsenal.

“I’m proud and happy to get to 100 Premier League goals,” Haaland said after the match. “But when you’re a striker for Manchester City, you should be delivering great numbers. That’s my job. People should criticize me if I don’t score. That’s normally what people do so, as I said, I should deliver.”

A statistical snapshot of Haaland’s dominance

Haaland has piled up milestones at historic speed. He reached 20 Premier League goals in 14 matches, 30 in 27 matches, 40 in 39 matches and 50 in 48 matches. Since arriving in England, he has delivered season totals of 36 goals in 2022-23, 27 in 2023-24, 22 in 2024-25 and, so far, 15 in 2025-26.

Sports Illustrated also broke down how those 100 goals were scored. Haaland has 71 with his left foot, 17 with his head, 11 with his right foot and one off his hip.
