EURO 2024
Euro 2024 opening ceremony: artists performing, times, TV, how to watch
Host nation Germany face Scotland in the tournament opener with the Group A game getting underway in Munich.
With UEFA still to confirm the finer details of the Euro 2024 opening ceremony ahead of the curtain raiser as host nation Germany face Scotland, the European governing body have stated that the event will pay tribute to Franz Beckenbauer who passed away earlier this year.
Former Mannschaft captain’s Bernard Dietz and Jürgen Klinsmann (1996), will be joined by Beckenbauer’s wife Heidi as they bring the European Championship trophy (Henri Delaunay Cup) onto the pitch before the tournament gets underway, ensuring all three of Germany’s Euro triumphs are represented at the ceremony.
With artists Meduza, OneRepublic and Leony (composers of the official Euro 2024 anthem) set to perform at the closing ceremony in Berlin ahead of the final on 14 July, we still await details of which musical guests will open the tournament.
