Toronto FC wants to get out from the bottom of the table in the Eastern Conference by adding more players to their star-studded roster. The team managed by Bob Bradley is in talks to sign Federico Bernardeschi, who is without a club, meaning the Italian international could arrive as a free agent.

Italian revolution continues

The Italian international would be joining his compatriots Lorenzo Insigne and Domenico Criscito, who both played in the Serie A last season. The interest from both sides is ‘very real’ and both sides are in an advanced stage of discussions to seal the deal.

Bernardeschi didn’t have a breakout season last campaign with Juventus and he only scored two goals in 36 appearances across all competitions. In five seasons with the Old Lady, Bernardeschi made 183 appearances, scored 12 goals and provided 24 assists.

The Italian international has other offers on the table from Sevilla, Atlético Madrid and Roma. But Federico Bernardeschi is keen to join Toronto so that he could continue his career in Major League Soccer and make his debut in the coming weeks.
