There are currently two Mexican players who will be playing in the upcoming Asian Cup. They are Daniel Lajud and Vas Nuñez. The former plays in the Liga Expansión with Atlante and was called up by Lebanon to play in the competition. The native of Veracruz has dual nationality as his father is Lebanese.

Vas Nuñez, meanwhile, plays for the Hong Kong national team, which will also participate in the Asian Cup. Nuñez has Mexican nationality due to his mother, however, his entire career has been spent in Asia, playing in Hong Kong and currently in China.

Luka Romero

Milan player Luka Romero was born in Durango, Mexico, but opted to play for Argentina as he has that nationality thanks to his family. Romero recently played in the U-20 World Cup with the Albiceleste, where he played four games and scored two goals.

Alejandro Zendejas

Alejandro Zendejas is another of those who have preferred to play for a national team other than Mexico. Having dual nationality, Zendejas opted for the United States after a series of controversies with the FMF. Finally, there is Manuel Rosas Arreola, a former player, who played for Nicaragua after becoming a Nicaraguan national in 2013.
