Fortress Camp Nou! ...Barça go 287 days without conceding from open play
Espanyol are the only team that have been able to score, thanks to a Joselu penalty with no team in the league yet to score at Camp Nou from open play.
The Camp Nou has impenetrable for visiting teams! Only Espanyol have found the net at Barca’s ground this season and that Joselu goal came from the penalty spot in the derby on 31st December.
The last goal that Barcelona conceded at home in open play in LaLiga came back in May (2022) when Moises Gómez was able to take advantage of an error in Adama Traoré's clearance to make it 0-2 for Osasuna. Since that 55th minute strike, Ter Stegen’s goal has been expertly guarded in LaLiga, with the exception of the penalty.
Away fans at Camp Nou have not seen their teams score for 287 days or more than forty weeks. Barcelona have brushed aside the likes of Villarreal (3-0), Athletic (4-0), Sevilla (3-0) or now Valencia (1- 0).
It is evident that Ter Stegen has played a massive role in these incredible stats but the summer defensive acquisitions such as Andreas Christensen and Jules Koundé have played their role. The rise of Alejandro Balde and the explosion of Ronald Araújo, as one of the best central defenders in the world, have also been huge contributing factors.
