Rogelio Funes Mori is back to full training with Pumas and could be included in the list for Sunday’s home game against Tijuana, corresponding to matchday 11 of the Clausura 2024. The striker has not out of action since Week 2 when he fractured two ribs in the 3-1 defeat to Atlético de San Luis at Alfonso Lastras Ramírez stadium.

Funes Mori with two appearances so far this season

He has totalled just 90 minutes for Gustavo Lema’s side during the current tournament, playing the second half of the Liga MX opener against Juárez and starting against San Luis.

Another player who is back in contention is César Huerta. Chino has now recovered from the ankle injury he suffered in Monterrey last weekend. Both Huerta and Funes Mori trained as normal on Friday and could be included in the squad for Sunday’s match.

Another player who is making advances with his rehabilitation is José Caicedo. The midfielder hobbled out of the Week 7 clash against Santos Laguna with a hamstring injury. He has missed the last two games, against Chivas and Rayados, but is progressing well and is return is nearing.

Robert Ergas continues to work apart from the main group. He is recovering from muscular exertion and remains a serious doubt for Sunday’s midday kickoff clash at the Ciudad Universitaria. Elsewhere, Ricardo Galindo is carrying a knee problem and will sit out the Tijuana game. Pumas head into the next game after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Rayados in Monterrey. Gustavo Lema’s side sit seventh in the overall classification with 15 points, with a goal difference of +2.
